The U.S. Congress has just approved a landmark overhaul of financial regulations in the United States, which will affect almost all financial and commercial firms with U.S. operations. The bill will mean tighter regulations on financial entities, as well as tougher registration, reporting and governance standards. Consumer protections will be strengthened, with banks being forced to reduce certain trading and investing activities, and new safeguards will be placed on derivatives trading.

Please mark your calendars to join us on 30 September 2010 for a free, half-day seminar on how to deal with these new financial regulations. Top K&L Gates lawyers from our global Financial Services group, together with special guest speakers, will host a signature conference to highlight the myriad issues facing U.K. and E.U. financial and corporate entities, following the passage of this historic bill.

The program will begin with a light lunch followed by a keynote speaker and various panel sessions, concluding with a cocktail reception. A full agenda will follow later this summer.
